EJ graduated from the Australian National University's Graduate Law program in 1994.

Prior to working in private practice, EJ had 25 years legal experience in Australian Federal and State Government, specialising in cyber law, policy, advice, international humanitarian law, law of the sea, administrative & criminal law & is an internationally recognized cyber law expert.

Jonathan Lim

Solicitor

 

Jon graduated from Monash University in 2017, and the Australian National University in 2019.

Jon is an admitted solicitor in Victoria, whose expertise stretch across IP, international trade, cyberlaw, international commercial arbitration, and Chinese law.

Jon also has extensive experience as a geopolitical analyst and policy writer specialising across cyberwarfare, international space law, and Indo-Pacific affairs.

David Wise

Education and Research

 

David graduated from the University of Canberra with a Bachelor of Applied Science.

David has an extensive working history in public relations and education with organisations as diverse as CSIRO, Parks and Wildlife organisations, and the university sector including TAFE.

We are pleased that David has taken charge of the Canberra office of WiseLaw, following its opening in October 2019.

Carol Steele

Practice Manager

 

Following on from her successful career in the Office of the Sheriff of New South Wales (working to support the NSW Supreme Court and other courts) Carol moved to Melbourne where she has spent 13 years working with the Australian Electoral Commission.

Carol brings a wealth of experience to WiseLaw and operational law guidance for our practice's success.

Carol brings her enthusiasm, integrity and abilities together in the operations role she performs at WiseLaw. Carol's natural ease and good humour pervade all she does including practice management, operations, cyber audits and cyber education.

Muhammed Khan

Graduate

 

Muhammed is a current Master of Cyber Security Law student at La Trobe University, where he specialises in cyber/computer forensics and counter terrorism.

Muhammed has completed his law degree in the UK at BPP Law School on exchange, and is currently undertaking the LPAB/LEC Diploma of Law to become qualified as an Australian Lawyer.

Muhammed is fluent in Urdu and Hindi, and can help address any questions you may have concerning laws in Pakistan and in the UK.

Adrian Tan

Head of Data

 

Adrian is an experienced professional in Strategic Marketing, Data and Analytics and has worked in global consulting and international brands in the United Kingdom and Australia.

At Deloitte London, Adrian demonstrated to the UK government on how data visualisation can be used for insights into traffic accidents.

Adrian’s law thesis focused on the use of Bayesian reasoning in the courtroom to prevent miscarriages of justice arising from the misuse and misinterpretation of statistical evidence. He was awarded a UK Qualifying Law Degree in mid-2013.

Jessica Flatters

Paralegal

 

Jessica is a current Juris Doctor Student at the University of Melbourne, where she is an active participant within the Melbourne University Students' Society, Pathfinder Program, and Mentor Program.

Jessica also works part-time at Slater and Gordon Lawyers within their Class Actions department, and as a research Assistant at the University of Melbourne's Centre for Media and Communications Law - working on the Media Freedom Model Laws Project.

Cyber Law Intern

Gideon is a current Law and Management Information Systems student at Deakin University, where he is the President of the Australasian Union of Jewish Students.

Gideon is a personable and astute student with proven collaboration skills and critical thinking abilities developed from political and philosophical programs and events.

Demonstrating his commitment to charity and community service - Gideon also works part time as a Staffing Services Allocator at Regis Aged Care, and as a volunteer at the Office of the Public Advocate.

Misty Zhang

Misty Zhang is currently a Juris Doctor student at Monash University. She is also a qualified Chinese Lawyer and has a wealth of experience in international commercial law, having worked for a law firm in Shanghai.

Misty has work experience in Boss & Young, one of the top 10 Chinese law firms in China, and she also has internship experience with Cannan Lawyers (迦南律師事務所), a law firm in Melbourne. Misty runs a WeChat channel and is working on self-media and media relationships with a start-up group.

Shirley Feng

Shirley has had 3 years post-admission legal experience in a China-based law firm - specialising in Commercial disputes, Torts disputes, Traffic accident liability compensation, Marriage and family disputes, and Labor contract disputes.
