●  EJ Wise, Principal Solicitor founded WiseLaw with a community focus with the purpose of increasing cyber understanding and resilience.

●  WiseLaw donates 50% of all post tax profits as follows:
> Victorian Aboriginal Legal Service
> Asylum Seeker Resource Centre
> Environment Victoria
> Environmental Justice Australia

● WiseLaw advocates for the creation of an Australian union for lawyers and legal services: until that day WiseLaw applauds the recent creation of the NZ Aotearoa Legal Workers’ Union (ALWU) and in 2019 donated $1,000 towards their costs (the ALWU has no membership fee).

● WiseLaw undertakes pro bono work on request.  Non-profit and community groups are cordially invited to submit a request for assistance using the link below.

● WiseLaw invites interested people with relevant skills to join the internship program which has both funded and unfunded positions annually.  
Applications for 2021 are being accepted on a rolling basis until 20 September 2020 - please contact us should you have any inquiries.

● WiseLaw provides youth work experience opportunities, and in 2019 has two successful high school students who will be joining the firm for placements.

● Both EJ Wise, Principal Solicitor and David Wise, Education & Research, are qualified with Applied Science degrees in Ecology and Natural Resources.  

● WiseLaw undertakes to source renewable energy and products for the firm and to seek new ways to contribute to a healthier environment.

7-9 October 2019 - Hosted by the Australian Information Security Association, the 2019 Australian Cyber Conference represents Australia’s leading cyber security conference which involved 3,600 professionals from across the ICT industry.

18 October 2019 - Hosted by the Law Institute of Victoria, in cooperation with the Future Crime Agency, WiseLaw assisted in organising a special guest briefing/discussion between Mr. Skeeve Stevens and members of the Technology & the Law Committee - attended by members from KPMG, the LIV, and Monash University.

Over 2020 WiseLaw aims to further its involvement and contributions across the cyber security and legal sectors. 

25 February 2020  - Principal EJ Wise addressed the Southern Solicitors Law Association on how cyber security must be considered an essential aspect in the practice management of law firms.

27 February 2020 - WiseLaw attended the jointly hosted event by the Law Institute of Victoria and the Legal Practitioners Liability Committee. The event was a a half-day seminar attended by 170 lawyers, and provided participants with practical strategies from cyber security provides on how to safeguard their firms.

7 March 2020 - EJ Wise presented on the importance of cyber security for immigration law firms - where practitioners in possession of sensitive and confidential client information often become the target of hackers and criminals.
